A victim of IE8 in need of assistance

I don't see a folder for IE8 so I hope this is okay to submit in this forum. (If not, my apologies.)

First of all, I wish like heck I had NEVER installed IE8! But since I have, I guess I'm stuck with it because XP (Or is it Bill Gates?) won't let me revert back.

Here's the problem... ever since I installed this confounded browser, I have lost the drop down function on my address bar. This is very annoying because I do like to save my regular stops on my drop down. I have since moved to using Firefox but it crashes more often than a rookie NASCAR driver.

Is there any little trick that I have overlooked to getting that drop down function restored to that addy bar? I thought that since I have been surfing since 1997, there was nothing that MS could come out with that could ruin my life. Well, this comes pretty close.

Anyway, here's the version dope on my IE8...
