i hate it when i goto a webpage and a script runs that changes my home page
without asking with a pop-up from IE. is there a registery edit that can
stop the home page from being changed?

You most likey have some SPYWare that is hijacking your
homepage.
I have seen it twice and their various versions.
Download and run AdAware. It will scan your drive and give
you a list of registery entres, prigrams and coolie which
are Spyware. You can quarentee some or all of them.
Question - does Windows Explorer run or does it crash with
an error in some DLL ?
