To upgrade Win95 to 98, I have to use setup /c, but when the script gets to
the driver upgrade, it appears the author removed ALL the drivers and so the
script cannot install any drivers to the C drive because the computer cannot
write to the C drive.

Is there a workaround, fix, or solid advice on recovering from this error?

It is my understanding that the "/c" switch bypasses
smartdrv.exe. I suggest you try "fdisk /status" and
see if the computer has access to the hard drive.

During the script, I have no access to the dos prompt.

Otherwise, the hardware works fine and is accessible if booted with
something else.

Remove and reseat the memory modules. Test or replace them if
possible. Also, see if "c:\setuplog.txt" has any useful information.

maybe you should not use the /c switch
smartdrv must be needed
