| After using an emergency boot disk, is there some way to get from the A:
prompt to the normal Windows startup without shutting down and re-powering?
None of the DOS commands I know work and changing the prompt to another drive
doesn't help.

No. What's the problem in re-booting? Why are you using an EBD? Is it
because you need to rename or delete a file that is in use when Win Me is
running?

Ctrl-Alt-Del should do it.
(This means hold the Ctrl key down, also hold the Alt key down, and while
still holding them down, press the Del key).
NOTE: Depending upon your BIOS setup, you may have to remove the floppy disk
from the drive first. |

Mike, I'm sometimes using the EBD because I made the mistake of updating my
BIOS and as a result, startup is sometimes a problem.

If it was a problem with the BIOS, I'd expect the machine to fail every
time, or boot every time.
The symptoms you describe are more likely hardware problems than firmware -
check all connections as a first step.
