Unfortunately there are a few that think the basic.dos group is for
basic DOS questions (SIGH). Lately the DOS questions seem more common
there than the BASIC questions. |

Using at least one appendage, the entity known in this space-time continuum

Thanks. Not quite the best news I ever had, but now I know where to look.
And I use DOS BASIC occasionally and had long forgotten the existence of
the group. So thanks twice
And once more for luck

I have not looked for or at this groups charter, but I would expect it is
about MS-DOS applications running under Windows 95.
If you want information about MS-DOS itself, I would think that
microsoft.public.win3x_wfw_dos would be a better group.

Me neither, but had always assumed it related to those parts of DOS which
were ported to and still are included in the Windows Console Utilities. I
still write batch scripts to automate the more tedious bits of file/disk
housekeeping
