It appears that I cannot download the dll file (cpu.info.dll)back on
to my computer. Everytime I want to download a certain Media Player
that shows videos to download; they always say that i need this dll
file!

I've tried everything from top to bottom. Somehow it has disappeared
off of my Computer. I have windows 98SE and acutally thought that
I downloaded the file several times from different sights but when
trying to download two types of certain media players they
continuously tell me the (cpu.info.dll) file is missing and is
required!

What is the next step?

thanks

Make sure to put the file in the Windows\System folder. Also, if the file
name really has two periods in it, it may be a virus. Try a virus scan.

AVG http://www.grisoft.com
F-PROT http://www.f-prot.com
On-line scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com

In response to the last advice of not being able to put the file
CPUINFO.DLL back into my computer. Which is required in order to
download certain Video Players.

I mistakenly indicated (2) periods and This File has not two periods
but one. CPUINFO.DLL Secondly what is the procedure in sequence in
bringing up the Windows\System folder and putting the file
(cpuinfo.dll) into the Windows\System folder ? And will this be all
there is to it?
