Greetings,
I appear to have resolved the issue :-\
The host machine has been playing-up with poor signal strength so I
decided to resurrect an old Realtek RTL8180 in an attmpt to get better
signal. The latest drivers seem to support WPA-PSK over 802.11b so I
reconfigured my DLink router to mixed mode (b & g), dropped in my
passphrase and away she went. Now I can print!
It looks like either the DLink router did not like the Netgear WG311v3
card or the card is faulty. I'll get a DLink 802.11g card sometime to
replace the Realtek but for now I'm one happy camper.
