Define "crash". Are there any messages in Deleted Items you need? (There
shouldn't be).

Suggestions? Sure!

From your headers: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000

You're running outdated and VERY unsecure versions of OE, IE, and Windows!
Get that computer fully patched before worrying about Outlook Express!

hmmm - curious - deleted a subfolder located in "deleted items" and it works
fine now. nevermind!
cant replicate the msg to tell you anymore.

pa bear - yup i know its an oldie - win 98 and been running over 10 year
w/no probs. (scsi drives rarely die)
it suits the application at this location just fine!
but gettin kinda old in the tooth - some websites are beginning to complain.
will need to change soon...

Smile
thanks!

Robear,
Impressive response.
Somewhat off topic, but how are you fellows able to see the email headers in
the discussion group communications? I access them frequently in OE, but
don't see access to that info thru the discussion group format. Do you have
special software you use as OE experts to help in the discussions, or is
there a function to check to see all the header info?
Thanks,

Even if it is a Win98 box running IE6 (not IE6 SP1), it's still not safe to
use online until you get it fully patched!

You'd have to access the post in a newsreader (e.g., OE). The Properties of
the post tell the story. Here's the headers from one of the OP's posts:

Not only do the headers reveal his OE version (not MSIMN.EXE but two related
OE files), they also reveal what might be his real email address and his
posting IP [1]...which the BadGuys can "harvest" and use for nefarious
purposes.

It is not possible, that I can see, to get at the posting properties of an
article from the web client (Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000). I've never
found a way. One of the reasons I prefer a proper NNTP client (I am using
one called, "40tude Dialog"; but MS Outlook Express will server, as long as
you understand its limitations, which are legion).

PA Bear usually posts using MS Outlook Express 6.00.2900.5843, which will
display posting headers.

CTRL-F3 is your friend. <G> Or you can get OETool
(www.oehelp.com/OETool/) and just push the button to show the source.
