Ah, which ones, just answered one... what to help, seems Vista and
network_web have all the traffic now, and all the MVPs.

So I'm floggin' a dead 'orse bringing my Q's in here;; better off just
posting
them in 98 general and etc.... yeah?
Like, if I want to network this comp to a comp with M.E on it, I should
go to 98 or M.E group. and if I want to network this comp to XP, I
should go to 98 or XP group?

WEELLL, I wouldn't be the one to confirm or deny that, BUT it appears there
is a marked lack of response here.
Too many forums for the same MVPs to play in. So if its REALLY important or
needs fixed fast, yeah, post in Win98 general for 98 AND ME, and for XP
specific try the multi platform microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web
group, though certainly the MVPs that monitor 98 general aren't still going
to make the direction to post XP and 98 networking back here, or least one
would hope so anyway..
For your potential CISCO postings, likely network_web would hold the
parties likely to have dealt with or better understanding CISCO.
But then I don't want the responsibility for killing a group, so post where
you want... someone will eventually post an answer, and I see the MVPs have
dropped back into these older groups, must have finally got their VISTA
setups running stable...

Try microsoft.windows.win98.gen_discussion. It's MUCH more active. |

This group gets regular attention from at least a few MVPs, but you'll note
that they aren't every day, necessarily. Windows 98 and ME should have no
problem networking, assuming you have your router properly set up and the
networking components properly installed. Networking WIn98 to XP/Vista
sometimes seems to require that you log onto WIn98 with a password, the same
password always, and that you give WinXP that password. Myself, I've never
had much trouble with networking any of them. Installing network printers,
yes, but not sharing files.
What's your problem(s)? SO far, your own questions have been attentively
answered save one -- but that one is so old, and you or whomever previously
responded to you did not include the prior content, so I couldn't figure out
what your problem is. The problem you'll have posting to XP or Vista groups
is getting anyone to pay attention that happens to know about the vagaries
of Win9x systems (including WinME.) Yes, they're there, but there is SO much
traffic that your question(s) can get lost.
