Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>general, others (more info?)

Since recently a window called "Windows - Delayed Write Failed" started
popping up regularly saying:

Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \...\DP(1)0-0+8\$Mft.
The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a falure of your
computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this elsewhere

I click OK, the window goes off, but in a while pops up again.

Otherwise the computer works fine and I did not notice any loss of data,
neither did I knowingly create the file mentioned above.
What is it ?

Visit your hd manufacturers site and download / create their disk checking
utility.
*Now* would be a good time to backup data
