Trying to install Windows 2000 on an Ergo laptop.
When I first tried it, came up with a Blue Screen error telling me the
BIOS was not ACPI compliant. I found this:-
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=256841
So, I hit F7 as it suggests and it seems to go further. Now however, I
get an error message saying setup cannot find keyboard.
Any ideas? (Yes, kbd works). |

You might try a docking station or another keyboard to get through the
install, then install the chipset.

Weird how it says no keyboard though. Reckon this is to do with the F7
press? |

You might also look for a newer system bios version.

Its a brand new laptop so I'd have expected the BIOS to be pretty up
to date.
Is there any chance its so new or something, that Windows 2000, being
old, is getting confused?
Is ACPI still around? Its quite an old thing if I rememeber correctly?
BTW. Tried USB keyboard but thats not even being recognised at all. |

Yes, the OS is probably too old. You should be able to disable ACPI in
system cmos setup.

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable in setup. |
