Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win98>pnp (more info?)

I had a wireless card in a WIN 98 desktop that failed. I tried to uninstall
the software, but had problems with the process. I am now trying to install
the drivers for a new wireless card, but the installation program will not
work.

The support line for the wireless card told me that there are probably
entries in my registry that need to be manually deleted before another
wireless driver can be installed. I need to know where in the registry to
find and delete those entries. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just to add some additional details: I have installed and run Registry
Mechanic and I have tried two separate wireless cards with the same results.
I have also tried getting the driver by itself from each company's web site.
Each program hangs when it reaches the point of installling the driver.

I appreciate any suggestions.
