If you love Outlook Express - and need it for different identities - all
password protected - easy to transfer messages and add books from one pc to
another, easy to store for backup - FORGET VISTA. Windows Mail is great, but
does not allow multiple identities. It's killing me!
Any light anywhere?
Tks.

Hello Bruce,
Thank you for your reply. Is this program reliable? Is it good? Do you know
anyone who uses it?
Tks.

You need to wait for someone in the Vista Windows Mail group to reply. I'm
on Outlook Express. This was cross-posted there so someone should get back
to you.

That program is relatively new, so the jury is still out on it. The author,
Steve Cochran , has a long history of supporting OE. He usually posts
in this newsgroup (...vista.mail) every few days or so.

| I known best solutions for transfering message database from Outlook Express to Windows Mail. You should use Message Synchronizer for Outlook Express. First download synchronizer and install. Run synchronizer on computer with Outlook Express. After that run synchronizer on computer with Windows Mail. Thats all. |

I just installed incredimail on Vista. It is almost exacly the same as Outlook Express. So far it is the only free email program I have found that works identities in the same way as Outlook. The problem is, it has a bunch of bloatware with it, that tries to make you buy stuff. I am going to experiment with it and see if I can trim it down a bit.
So good news :It works exacly like outlook Express.
Bad news: It has a lot of unnessesary bagage. |

Hard to believe after three years still no answer to the original post's actual question.
When will it be that the question will be answered?
I ask as all my OE6 e-mails are basically held hostage by Fogware's e-mail backup and relocator program with which that publisher refuses to either release an update (to enable Fogware to work with Vista's WM) and/or refuses to cough up support so as to afford Forgware subscribers/owners the ability to access their OE backed up e-mails on a Vista platform.
I feel ripped off by both forced use of WM and Fogware's refusal to provide support for their product. |

I just bought Avidian CRM software for my e-mail. Problem is, I could not get it to work with Vista 64 bit Windows Mail. Product needs Outlook Express to work. After searching for two days for a solution, I found that Microsoft Office (Standard)2007 comes with Outlook Express that works with Vista 64 bit.
Now I have both Vista Windows Mail & Outlook Express Mail working on my 64bit system, and the CRM program is also up and running. You can download Microsoft Office 2007 with Outlook Express for a 60 day free trial to see it work in Vista...... Make sure it is the Office 2007 ***STANDARD
It has saved me a big headache... I didn't want to return the CRM software, and I needed it to work. |
