I have a network with 2 wired computers (one running XP, and the other
ME). They are connected to the internet through a router, so
technically speaking, neither computer is considered Primary on the
network; the router is Primary.
After setting up the network this way, Flash stopped working on the ME
computer, and I can't figure out why! It's not limited to the internet,
either; a local .swf file wouldn't run, either (no error or anything,
it just never opened the IE window).
I tried to reinstall Flash, but when I get to the window that says "now
installing," nothing happens. No window pops up asking if it's OK or
anything like that.
I've gone through all of the information on the Adobe website: I
uninstalled Flash, which went through fine, and manually deleted the
npswf32.dll file, then tried to install Flash again... same results.
The security settings in IE are set to the default, and I
double-checked that ActiveX is enabled (with a prompt). I turned off
the Windows Firewall on the XP computer (there is no firewall on the ME
computer), but that still had no impact.
And of course, the PC is virus and spyware free.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Jason
