Setting up new WINS servers

Hi there,

We have two wins servers currently. 1 on an old NT PDC and the other on the
BDC. This domain is still heavily used unfortuantely.

My problem is that one of our WINS servers has become corrupt. I've been
advised on here in the past to backup the working database from the PDC and
delete WINS from the BDC then restore with the new database. If i do this -
how hard easy is it - what steps would i need to take and be aware of?


What i was wondering as well is....

We have AD. With two sites and DCs set up in each site along with DNS in
each site.

I was thinking maybe we should install WINS on the 2003 server that also
does DNS and have one in each site? Again - how would i do this and how easy
would it be/what to be aware of etc.

My goals are - stop getting WINS errors (4260 and 4261) and to not interrupt
the network at every cost.
