My monitor has been acting up recently. Every 10 minutes or so it gets about an inch smaller on both sides so everything looks stretched out. Sometimes it stays like that for a while and then switches back to normal and other times it switches right back. Also, sometimes there is this small horizontal line that goes across the top right of the screen. Any ways to get rid of these issues? Thanks.

Hello Rabs and welcome to Lockergnome!

Sounds like the tube in the monitor is going. That means it's a perfect time to buy that TFT you've been wanting to get.

TFT are also known as LCD or flat screen monitors.

Like these:

Ok thanks, how much does one of those usually cost?

Also, do you think the problem could be due to interference from another source? My speakers are pretty close to the monitor, less than a foot away each. Think that is the problem?

Speakers don't really interfere with monitors in the way you have described. TFT monitors start from about $100, CRT monitor usually start from under $100.
