We have a webpage that contains a link to an Excel spreadsheet located on a
file server. Before upgrading to IE7 the link worked fine with no error
messages. After upgrading to IE7, an error message is displayed when the
link is clicked. The spreadsheet is still opened, but the error message
indicates that the file cannot be found. It looks like IE7 tries to convert
the path to the Excel file into a URL format, which causes the error. Links
to Word documents and PDFs on file servers work just fine, it is only Excel.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
