I open IE6, a website opens, e.g.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/
I then click the Forums link on the left hand side.
Eventually I get the "The page cannot be displayed" message with
"Cannot find server or DNS Error".
Some websites seem to be okay, e.g.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/
Any links clicked from here open okay.
If I copy the links and open them in a new browser, they open
successfully, so it appears to be only if selected from the current
browser.
I have googled the problem and tried a few suggestions, e.g....
restarting urlmon.dll, plus a load of other dlls, e.g. oleaut32.dll
I have cleared the temporary file cache.
I have disabled 3rd party browsing.
I have reinstalled Java (currently at 1.6.0)
I have tried downloading a new oleaut32.dll
Still the problem is there. Does anyone have any other suggestions, as
this is starting to drive me nuts now.
