hi,

i'm currently in a Windows 2000 Active directory environment with most
of the users working with roaming profiles. Now i installed a terminal
server (win 2003) and would like that the users logging on to that
server get a fresh profile and not their roaming profile. is there any
way to achieve this? i've been looking through the group policy
settings but up till now i did not find what i'm looking for.

thanks in advance

Hej!

You achieve this by enable "Only allow local user profiles" in Computer
Config -> Administrative Templates -> System -> User Profiles

If you completly want to disable roaming profiles on your Terminal Server
you also have to enable "Prevent Roaming Profile changes from propagating to
the server". This settings prevents that the local profile will be stored on
the server.

The requiremnts for these settings are Windows XP Professional and Windows
Server 2003. If you canīt see these settings in GPO Editor you have to edit
the GPO on a Windows XP client or best on a Windows Server 2003 by using the
Group Policy Management tool.

/Michael
