The machine you are logging on to has to be a member of a domain.
When it is, you will get a third box on the login screen, which will
allow you to select a domain or local machine.

Can you elaborate? Not exactly sure what you are trying
to acheive.

The machine which iam try to join to a domain is a member of that particular domain. But i cannot join to the domain. Message is network path cannot find.I have already connected the machine inthe network.

When i try to start the netlogon from the control panel, it does'nt start and message says

"windows nt configuration for this machine is set for a work group computer, there for netlogon need not to start.

I appreciate if you can help me out in resolving my problem

Thanking you in advance

umm, your bit off the path, I think. You state you are trying to join
a computer to a domain, but it is already a member of the domain. Why
would you want to join a computer to a domain that it is already a
member of?

If you are getting a "network path not found" message, have you
checked DNS and WINS configuration?
Have you checked to see that the target computer that you are trying
to connect to is available?
Can you attach to other computers on the LAN?
Can you ping the default gateway?
Do you have TCP/IP installed?
