Can anyone tell me how I can change the pre-selected language MS FORCES me to
use back to the one that I WANT to use? I have a German Windows XP and have
been able to use the American version of IE - which is the one I WANT to use
- up until the last update. Now IE is in German, which I do NOT want to use,
but I can't change it back to English, even if I delete the whole program and
re-install the version which had given me the English language. Any ideas?
BTW, I'm using Firefox for now because it allows me to choose the language I
want.

Hmm... what would happen if you temporarily changed your Language
settings? E.g. via IE Options, Languages... and via keyboard selector
in Regional and Language Options. See if that changes at least two of
these three values (e.g. test from an IE Address bar):

javascript:navigator.browserLanguage
javascript:navigator.systemLanguage
javascript:navigator.userLanguage

(Active Scripting must be enabled in whatever Security zone
the page is in for the IE window you choose to do this with.)

Are you checking in the German newsgroups too?
Perhaps others have run into the same or similar symptoms
or generally understand this process better, particularly regarding
multiple language support?

Good luck
