7/01 Dell Dimension L1000/Win Me- - For BkUp, Made Boot CD w-Roxio ECDC4 from
Boot Floppy per old PC Mag article-Netted 2 FILES: BOOTIMG.BIN(1.44MB) and
BOOTCAT.BIN(2KB). My A14 BIOS Boot sequence is 1:Floppy; 2:ARMD-FDD(note:
Googled to Dell Pre-Release note said [Modified BIOS Boot Order to have
ARMD-FDD (LS-120) as Second Boot Device]; 3:IDE-HDD; 4:ATAPI-CD-ROM;
5:DISABLED
To ever use BOOT CD would I just make CD-ROM #3 and HDD #4, and trust there
is good reason for #2 to remain per Dell post? Don't know what LS-120
is-Can't imagine getting one. Any help appreciated.

Since you don't have an LS-120 super floppy simply make #2 your CD-ROM and
#3 your Hard Disk. Even better make #1 your hard drive and only change
the boot order on those few times that you want to boot from either a
floppy disk (FDD) or CD-ROM. This would save any potential problems or
delays at boot time that might arise from leaving a floppy or CD in their
respective drives when booting your PC.

Thanks, Mike. I've Rarely used Boot Floppy - Never in Emergency need and
wasn't sure if I would ALWAYS have access to choosing the BIOS Boot Order
when faced with using Boot CD or Floppy in an Uh-Oh mode.

LOL. And yes I understand exactly what you are saying. Smile I hadn't
realised though how soon after the OP had posted that I was replying as I
had only just come back to the Win Me NGs.

As to my reply, I'm just guessing what was required.
