Hi, does anyone have an idea how I can play video from a cell phone that has
a .3GP extension.

From what Ive heard is that only Quicktime will do this.

Does Media Player have a plug-in for us WinMe users? Thanks

The situation is that I downloaded the video from a Motorola phone and cant
seem to play them. Not particular of using Quicktime. Thanks

But why? <g> WMP is my media player of last choice, no, not strictly
true, since IMO even worse are RealPlayer and QuickTime.

You might want to try installing the QuickTime Alternative drivers from
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm which should
allow you to play QT files in WMP.

PS If you try the QuickTime Alternative codecs remember not to install
build 1.69 as this is only for NT based systems such as XP and instead
install build 1.56.

AFAIK, there ain't no such animal - but you should be able to use Quicktime
to play the files (so long as it's version 6.5 or higher)

Oh? I think you will that there is!

I'm currently playing a MOV file in WMP9 on Win Me having installed the
QuickTime Alternative build 1.56 codec (but not Media Payer Classic).
This codec can also play .3gp files as well as .qt and .hdmov files.

Something's not quite right however as WMP seems to hang at the end of the
file, perhaps I should have spent time on configuring it properly. I
normally use the QT Alternative to play MOV files in PowerDVD on XP.

It appears that I wasted my time in replying to your post. I'll try to
remember to ignore them in future.

Mike,

feel free to review the question before you decide to post.

I was looking for a way to use windows media player. Yes, feel free to
ignore them ... Im sick of your arrogant responses.

This is a forum for FAQ ...is it not?

And I told you exactly what you needed to do to use WMP to play your .3gp
files and you chose to ignore it. May I suggest that it is YOU who needs
to learn to the read replies to your posts. Either that or installing the
necessary codec is beyond your competence.

> This is a forum for FAQ ...is it not?

But in your case you seem to learn nothing from the replies to your
postings.
