I have an HP Pavilion m7360y, 2.80 GHz, 1 GB RAM, using WinXP MCE v. 2002 with SP2. Everything is working fine - I can go to the Media Center, watch and record live TV, watch DVDs, etc. The problem is video capture. I have a few programs that can do video capture (Windows Movie Maker, Blaze Media Pro, Nero, & more). The capture device is Conexant Falcon II NTSC. Doesn't matter which program I use for video capture, I get video but no sound. First checked all the obvious stuff - nothing is muted, levels are all up - and the not-so-obvious stuff, though don't want to do much since video capture is the only thing not working; don't want to screw up everything else that IS working. And I'm not even trying to do something like hook up an external device. In Windows Movie Maker, for example, when I choose TV Tuner as the video input source and get to the preview area, I see live TV but there's no sound. Again, audio and everything else works perfectly everywhere else; it's only when I try using video capture. Googled about Conexant, and there are others with audio capture problems, but didn't see any fixes. Any thoughts? Codec problem?
