In Control Panel/Mouse/Pointer Options I check the box that directs pointer
to automatically go to default button in dialogue box, click Apply and click
OK. The function works until the next time I turn on the computer. I go back
to the Control Panel and the box is now unchecked. Why is the setting not
being saved?

Is this your computer at work? Your IT department enforces its own rules.

Is this your computer at home? Your security software may be preventing
you from making the change.

BobbyH,
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
