Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>configuration_manage (more info?)

hello: i have tried deleting all the offline files (tools, folder options,
offline files, delete both temp offline versions and version that are always
available offline) but there is a bogus file that remains. it won't let me
delete it cuz it can't find it but it still reports it and trys to sync it.
if i add any other file to that directory/folder all the files fail to
synchronize cuz file sync chokes when it encounters the bogus file.

i've worked around this by renaming the folder but whenever i'm offline i
see that bogus can't be found file in the old directory. is there some sort
of registry edit i can do to get rid of it?i tried restoring the laptop to
before the file was created (system can ascertain properties but can't find
the file to delete it); this info must be stored in some system file
somewhere and i'd like know what it is.

thanks for your help

In the registry create a DWORD registry key called
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\FormatDatabase

Then reboot the PC. It will clear all offline file references, then remove the key.

Everything now works perfect.
