thnks very helpful - had no idea what it might and have not requested a
patch. Big cos do not need to e-mail me. I will delete it in POP3 and assume
it was an aberration. I will store your info on hoax stuff and read up.

Cheers

Do large companies email you often?
Microsoft has no way of knowing who you are or what you have running in
order to give you advice on what you need to do next.
Microsoft does NOT send patches via email without prior knowledge/contact
from the customer - a requested patch only.

Next time you get an email you are not sure whether to believe or not -
don't.

Jos, a simple thing to remember about secure e-mails is that is you're not
sure who or why someone or some entity e-mailed you just delete it. In the
case of Microsoft it's fairly simple to find out. Open a new Browser window
go to www.microsoft.com and check the website for what they supposedly
e-mailed you. Or do a search either way is a viable way to ensuire that
you're not recieving phished e-mails. Happy surfing.
