iexplorer.exe Application Error

Hi.
I am running WindowsXP and experience that one of my computers is crashing
after a while. The following messeage appears:
iexplorer.exe Application Error
The instruction at 0x7470b439 reference memory at 0x740b439. The memory
could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program.

Is this a hardware failure or WindowsXP problem?

It's an XP problem, more accurately an IE problem. Chances are there is
either a malicious plugin, or spyware on the machine. For the former, see
the steps here: http://rickrogers.org/fixes.htm#plugin as that is the more
likely scenario. For the latter, scan the system with something like Adaware
SE http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
