Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

This happens with both of my machines Windows XP and Windows 2000... I have
changed my background image, but as the machine boots the old background
images flashes on the monitor. Once the computers have booted completely,
the new image is displayed as the background. What causes this?

This is an old bug. In Control Panel>Display>Desktop set the background to
None. Apply. Reboot. Then set the background to whatever you want.
