Recently I upgraded from BitDefender antivirus 2009 to 2010. Since then I cannot access audio CDs from either of my DVD drives. This is not a hardware (laser or wiring) problem. All other media opens normally in these drives. (Movie DVDs, data CDs, image CDs) If I leave an audio CD inserted in the drive and reboot, the CD plays normally. I can eject it and reinsert it and it will play again. If I eject it and insert any other CD, it will not play. If I leave a CD in each drive and reboot, they both play normally and all tracks are listed in my File Manager. If I try to load a CD after I boot, my File Manager says it cannot read the folder.
I've been trying to get an answer from the BitDefender forums, but so far nothing has helped. I've tried deleting Registry keys such as —
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\mci\cdaudio
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
No luck.
