Windows Pic/Fax Viewer Drawing Failed

I just started having this problem on "some" of my graphic files. Some jpgs
open fine others do not. I have Windows Picture and Fax viewer as my default
viewer. Its started giving me the message "Drawing Failed". the files are
fine as I can open then in other programs. I assume my viewer might be
corrupt.

Can anyone help me fix this issue?

Try re-registering this DLL.

Copy and paste into the Run box, one at a time:

regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll
regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

That did it! I had actually done some reasearch and found other sites with
the same info... which I tried, but I assume what I tried was a bit different
from the ones you gave me.

In any case can't thank you enough! I view photos constantly and that was a
huge issue. I know I can use other things to view them but not with the
options that are below the photo in WPV.
