| I installed Corel Snapfire Plus. When I try to open a picture attachment in
my Outlook express, I get Microsoft visual C++ Runtime error. This
application requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. I have a
Dell Dimension e520 running Windows Media Center 2005. Windows XP, 1 g
harddrive that is 90 % free.Any suggestions on how to fix this. TIA

Uninstall the Snapfire program and clean up all traces left behind it, then
Run Disk Clean Up on your computer then Defrag in safe Mode.
Reboot and try to reinstall the Corel Snapfire.
Does this help?

I tried what you suggested, but it still does the same thing. I had the
trial version on my Dell computer when I got it and sent for the disc for
it. I never had any problems with the trial version. I contacted the corel
helpline and they said that the problem is part of the internal software of
windows. Any other suggestions?

Okay, do the following:
Open a run command and type in:
eventvwr.msc click [OK]
There click on these three folders in the Left side of the window they are:
Application
Secuirty
System
Click on each and look in the right side of the window/pane and look for any
Error messages (X) and double click them to get more info about the causer of
this error and you can copy and paste in your next post.
Let us know.

it says Application error. Faulting application Snapfire.exe version
1.0.0.0 faulting module mskoeplg.dll, version 8.2.125.o fault address
0x00057c6b
This is all it would let me copy:
0000: 06 00 00 00 04 00 4e 00 ......N.
0008: 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 c0 .......À
0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
The other listings had no errors. Hope this is what you wanted.

Hi Boots,
Do you have McAfee Anti-virus?.
If yes, then try this:
Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\McAfee\MSK\MskOePlg.DLL"
Then try to Turn OFF McAfee Firewall OFF and try to install the Corel
Program.
If it didn't help run the chkdsk by opening My Computer and Right click your
C:\ Drive and click on Tools then Check Disk and check the two boxes on the
pop-up window another message will say you can perfom this operation, do you
wish to run the check disk on start Up say YES and Reboot.
HTH.
Let us know.

I did the event viewer as you suggested in an earlier post, those results posted at the bottom. Some history first:
This is a month or so old probleml effecting 2 different computers, running the same program, using the same tools. I get two piggy-backed error messages upon crash of the application.
1st computer: Compaq Presario Desktop, XP, 170ish gigs HD, 2gigs ram
2nd comptuer: Compaq Laptop, VistaHP, 160gig HD, 2gigs ram
Program effected: Gimp when using brushes of large pixel size (1000 pixels plus)
Errors: 1st libglib dll error
2nd immediately after visual c++ runtime error
Facts: Never happened prior to August 1st.
Happens on BOTH computers.
Newest Windows Updates have been removed (they caused internet connection errors on both, so deleted and disabled)
Same software version used on both computers for over 24 months on the XP and 6 months on the Vista
Same brushes used on Gimp for the past year on XP and Vista 6 months
Here's EV's log:
