Michael, do you share your music online? If yes, you may have picked
up a virus or malware. Rt click the Taskbar and select
Task Manager>Processes. Then open the C: drive. Look in Processes for
any showing a large percentage figure other than idle.
Post back here with info.

When I click on my C:-drive icon the C:\ folder opens, but it always takes
forever and a day (well - about 40 seconds) until that window becomes
responsive. Any idea what the OS is doing during that time or what could
cause this?
The only thing special I noted in the C:\ folder is, that it - for whatever
reason - has a musical note as background (same as in the \My Documents\My
Music-folder). Could that have something to do with those delays when
opening it? What does that note indicate, anyway? And who/what controls what
folders have that background?
Michael
