Lite on cdrw drive question

Lite on cdrw drive question.

Some cds, it has trouble reading and burning some cd but not all cds.

Is the cddrive bad or the cd disks bad?

Model number is Lite-on LT-ON LTR-24102B

On the disk it has trouble reading, it sounds like a car trying to
start.

Try reading the CDs in another drive - if the CDs work in another drive -
conclude appropriately. Wink

Try cleaning the drive"s lens. Purchase a CD/DVD drive cleaner kit.

I have a Lite-on and another brand. I burned 45 out of a 50 pack on
the lite-on but the last 5 for the life of me would not burn. Zippo!
I moved them to the other drive and all 5 burned.

Asking a friend he also noted that his Lite-on was more sensitive (to
say it nicely).
