I am trying to help my brother access the net all over again. He was able to til just a couple days ago. I don't know anything about networks but I did look at his Event Viewer and I don't know if anything I found even helps...

He gets a signal (2 bars) but IE says no connection ..

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but when I put the CD in the autorun brings up the Linksys window for a split second (so fast you can't even tell the colour) and it is gone again. I explored the CD and tried to run it directly but same thing.

These are the things I grabbed from the Event Viewer:

The description for Event ID (1) in Source (m4301a) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE = flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: ,Linksys Wireless-B USB Network Adapter v4.0

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 001217A44EC7. The following error occured: The semaphore timeput period has expired. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

I don't know what else I can try to help him get the net again ..

(and please don't say get a different network card as he is out of work right now)
