I am at my wits end! I know my problem is probably severe as I have the 'blue screen of death'....but at this point, all I want to do is get into my system and move some precious photo files and document files to my external hard drive....after that I can concentrate on fixing the problem (if possible).
However, because I could not even start up in safe mode, I decided to attempt a Repair Install as it seemed like the right thing to do!!
Of course, this decision I made last night at 1am last night...so I put the disk in installed....there were 2 error messages I got but I said OK and continued..

Here are the 2 error messages I received:
ngen.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point Get RequestRuntimeVersion could not be located in the dynamic link librarymscoree.dll
.Net Framework Initialization Error
c:\Windows.net\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll could not be located
The installation finished and it went to the Windows XP Please Wait....screen and that's where it has stopped! I am not sure what to do from here...? Does that mean it was successful or not?
If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it! If I could just get into the system to copy some photo and data files to the external hard drive, then I would be so relieved and will deal with whatever else I have to...but at this point, I am panicking over lost data?
