Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>security (more info?)
l keep getting a pop up when loadind vista.automatic settings for updates is
turned off and will not allow me to update manually,the icon on the botton
right task bar is showing the red shield with a X trough it,all other windows
settings ie firewall malware etc are running ok,
can anyone resolve this problem

Try doing a complete system recovery when you start up your computer.
when your computer boots up on one of the screens look for something saying system recovery and it should have a F key such as F1 or F10
