windows mail can't send

I'm having the same problem as several others on this site. Today, was not
able to send with Windows Mail. (Can receive, though.) Tried to do the
fixes for Vista 64-bit which is what I have, and received a message that this
was not what I needed for my pc........?????

Everything was good until this morning. Tried to restore to several
previous dates and nothing works!

I have spent most of the day trying Microsoft's ideas. You guys even have
the gall to tell me I need to pay for help. This is a new laptop, not even 3
months old!

I need this problem fixed, now.

If you get an error message, please post it here. Right-click on it, select
Copy, then paste it into a reply.

Although this is a "Microsoft" newsgroup the attendants are not employed by
or otherwise connected to MS. The servers are just MS provided. All
answers and support are provided by other folks just like you who have
researched the issues or have personal experience dealing with them. So
please be respectful of your peers !!

Do provide a copy / paste of the exact error message(s) you've received and
who provides your email account (part after the @ symbol in your address).
They are most helpful to figure out what you're up against. Not sure what
"fixes for Vista 64-bit" implies (a service pack maybe - ? - but not likely
causing the mail problem). Provide more specific details - be nice - and
watch this thread frequently. Someone will get back to you on this -
usually fairly soon too !!
