Same problem here. I could not delete messages in my deleted items folder.
I tried multiple solutions, but yours was the only one that worked for me. A
pain in the rear-end, but a viable solution to the problem until MS figures
it out. I'm so frustrated with Vista and all new 'updated' programs that I'm
seriously considering ditching the $3000 Dell Laptop I just bought and going
with a Mac.

I have tried the suggestion below, and it worked for me, this is the only
thing that worked after two months of seeking a solution. Thank you so much.

Hello Everyone,

Here is the cause and solution to this problem that you are all having
:

The Cause:
It is caused by a stuck "undeletable" message in one of your mailbox
folders. It is usually caused by having your email scanning option
turned on in your antivirus program.

The Solution:
Read the top portion at this link, and do the section for the folder
that you have the stuck message in. This will get rid of that nasty
stuck message for you.

Try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil
