I'm not sure about who ships to Australia or not, but you should be able
to order a replacement through Toshiba.

i got the vista recovery iso from the internet and when i get to the
recovery screen it says "install.wim" is missing. i looked on the cd and
no "install.wim", even on the iso itself it isn't there. any ideas?

i've tried:
DVD-burner:
- (no updates for it
- (burned at 1x,4x,5x,MAX
- (used Alcohol120%, Imgburn, Isoburner v2
- (used on both medians DVD-R, CD-R

DVD-player - PIONEER DVD-RW DVR111D

If it's from an official source, then you should contact them to see
what they say about the ISO file. It may be a bad ISO, or they have some
sort of special usage instructions for it that were missing.

Did burning the ISO to DVD at a slower speed allow it to work for you
afterwards?

You might try downloading another copy and burning it again in case it
had gotten corrupted somehow before.

I don't then. I would recommend to contact Toshiba and inform them that
either there is something wrong with the ISO, or they have not included
some vital step in the installation instructions with it.

Ah, in that case, it most definitely sounds like a bad ISO then. Sad

If you have friend that has the same brand and model as you, you can
also use there OEM installation disc with your product key number
instead.

like when i press it feels like i have to press less than the other key
beside it and also is lower when not pressed indicating it is broken or
something. yeah just pressing it locks forward and when pressed down and
stays down

It is. And you hijacked someone else's thread.

And your key problem has absolutely nothing to do with Windows.
