I am trying to get a media center plugin (mymovies http://www.mymovies.name)
to on my vista premium computer.
I installed it as an user with administrator role, I got a prompt that its
from an unknown publisher and after I acknowledged the installer completed
sucessfully with no problems.
But When initialize the application the error says that I cannot access
registry, even though I run it as administrator. The app log file indicates
that its trying to fetch a directory location from registry and unable to do
it.
If I turn off the UAC then application works great.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue without turning off UAC completely.

Regards,

Have you tried to run the application in XP SP2 compatibility mode(right click
the executable, Properties, Compatibility tab), or running it "elevated" (right
click the executable, and select Run as Administrator)?

I am logged in as an administrator so there is no option to "Run as
Administrator" option.

Even if you are logged on as an administrator, with Vista you are an
"Administrative User". Did you even TRY to right click the executable and see
if the "Run as Administrator" is there?
