When I try to send mail in Windows Mail, it just sits in the out box and
refuses to budge. If I close Windows Mail and then open it again, send and
receive magically works, until I do another mail, then it sticks again.
Anybody know the answer??

Let's face it. Windows Mail is buggy.
Try upgrading to Windows Live Mail:

Thanks Gary.
