Can't delete mail from deleted box

Hello Joe,

The options in PROBLEM ONE of this tutorial may be able to help you fix
this stuck undeletable message problem in Windows Mail.

Make sure you have Vista's SP1 installed.

Try dragging those messages directly to the Recycle Bin.
If no luck, try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil

If still no improvement, upgrade to the newer Windows Live Mail:
http://download.live.com/wlmail

A couple of settings you might try toggling off / on to see if they will
allow deletion . . . .

In the account settings - Tools - Accounts - select the appropriate account,
Properties - Advanced tab. At the bottom there is a checkbox to "Remove
from server when deleted from Deleted Items". This also makes me wonder if
they are stuck on the mail server, which you may be able to "free up" if you
logon the account's webmail and can delete from there.

Another one, Tools - Options - Advanced tab - Maintenance button (at
bottom), there's a checkbox to "Empty messages from the Deleted Items folder
on exit", and, "Purge deleted items when leaving IMAP folders" (don't know
if you are using IMAP . . . .).
