Could not connect to printer wirelessly

Help! I have been trying to connect my HPdeskjet 6540 to my new HP Pavilion notebook with operating system being vista. I went through the process of adding a new printer and could not find my printer wirelessly. I could use the printer via hard wire, (usb cord), so I know that my notebook and printer are compatible. My wireless system is a Netgear router, (WGR614 v6). I do have another laptop using the Netgear router and is hooked up to the same printer wirelessly. The other laptop prints without any problems so I know that the printer is capable of funcitoning wirelessly. So, if anyone has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate your help.
