Windows Mail Send Error

Ok, bear with me...

Last night I had a problem with Window's mail. There appears to be a stuck
message in the outbox (as other's have had the problem too). It sent, but
it's just stuck. Anyway, I didn't do anything that was suggested becuase I
don't have the time at the moment. Today when I checked my mail I replied
to two different recipients and their mail is now in the outbox too. It
won't send it to them. The system acts like it sent it, no error message,
but there's not a copy in my sent folder and the items will not dissapear
from outbox, they are just sitting there being stuck with the others. I can
delete the two I tried to send today, although, the other is still stuck. I
tried deleting the two I tried replying to and then re-replied to them
again...still sits in the outbox, acts as it sends, no luck.

Please help. So the first thing to do is remove the accounts?

Removed all accounts, restarted computer, reinstalled accounts and still
when I send mail it doesn't send. It acts like it sends, no error messages,
just stuck there in the inbox. grrrr

nevermind, I think I just fixed the error by what this guy said ...

It works -- but isn't a perfect solution by any means. First, enable
view of
hidden files... and make sure Windows Mail is closed.

Go to your "C:\USERS\yourloginname\APPDATA\LOCAL\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS
MAIL"
folder. Copy the entire folder somewhere else... another partition, a
CD, a
thumb drive -- whatever. While you actually don't need the ENTIRE
folder,
it's easier this way. Plus, you have a backup in case something goes
horribly wrong.

Next, delete "WindowsMail.MSMessageStore". I know -- but you copied it
above.

Start Windows Mail as you normally would. A new message store will be
created. All will be nice & clean; no ghost messages. In fact, NO
messages,
period.

Go to your copied folder, and open the "Local Folders" subdirectory.
Go
through the individual folders and delete any 0-byte "Windows Mail
E-Mail
Message" files you see. Size this window so it's visible on top of
your
Windows Mail application, and drag & drop all messages to the places
they
should go. You can highlight and drag an entire group if you like,
just be
sure that you don't accidentally bring along anything but "Windows
Mail
E-Mail Message" files. It's easy to miss the "Winmail.fol" file at the
end
of the list, which will cause an error if you miss it. Copy time may
also be
lengthy, depending upon how many files you have and your choice of
copy
media. Note that really long times may result in a "Not Responding"
label at
the top, which isn't necessarily a true statement.

Thanks for doing your 'homework' and giving us feedback
on the suggested workaround. Yes, it's a pain, but it's
about all we have at this point.
Make sure your antivirus program is configured so that
it does NOT scan incoming or outgoing email. We think
that is the common thread to all these problems with
Windows Mail.
