Hi there guys. Need your help! I have a PC desktop with XP SP2 and a
lappie with Vista Ultimate, all part of my domestic WiFi LAN. I also
have a printer - HP Deskjet 930C Series - installed with the desktop PC.
The LAN is OK, and the lappie can "see" the desktop allright, although
Vista doesn't let it to be seen so easily! Problem started when I tried
to install the printer via network. I had XP installed in an older
laptop and everything was OK. All I had to do was to find the printer,
double click it, and when asked if I wanted to install it, XP did it
piece of cake. Now with Vista in the lappie, after being asked if I want
to install it, I receive a message "the printing monitor is not
recognized' and it does not install!!! I suppose it's because the
drivers in the desktop are for XP and Vista doesn't like them. I have
also installed the printer physically in the notebook, but was not
successful.
Does anybody have a clue on how I should do it? Has any of you had a
similar problem? How can I make my printer part of the whole WLAN,
specially in Vista? Give me a hand, please, please!!
If I can't get it to work, I'll have to go back to the good ol' XP
through clean install, and I have just finished configuring Vista to
work smoothly!
