Vista - wireless printer disappears

I have an HP7700n, Vista Home Premium and an HP 6810 photosmart AIO.
I had downloaded the appropriate install pkg from HP and ran it. Set up wireless networking on the printer & installed the software. Ran smoothly, for a day & a half. Then all of a sudden no printer. Looked in control panel/printers, nada! Reinstalled, great for a day then voila, za printer, she is gone! Again searched in the freezer section of my local grocer, but alas, no printer. This went on for three more installs. I then assigned a static IP on the printer & assigned a port to that address. Worked fine for the last seven weeks until the day before yesterday. Zen, yes you have guessed correctly! Zere is no printer.
Using Linksys wireless G router.

Any help would be great!
