Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>networking_sharing (more info?)

Hi, first post here - thought I might try the source. I recently upgraded
(clean install) to Vista Home Basic from XP Pro. Now I wrote down all my
network settings to re-input them when I was all done.

Now I have managed to dig down to network settings and applied a fixed IP
address outside my routers DHCP range - There was previously a forwarding
rule applied to the router prior to the upgrade which has remained in place.
I installed uTorrent 1.7.2, set my listening port to the port I have
forwarded on the router. Router is Billion 7300GA

Problem is I am continuously getting a red 'x' in uTorrent saying that
Firewall/router is blocking traffic. Windows Firewall is off, no 3rd party
software firewall and my router does not have a firewall built in - only NAT
- which port forward should bypass.

Can anyone explain if there is a difference in the way Vista handles these
things than to XP. From everything im reading this set up should be fine -
but its not...

All help is very much appreciated.
