VGA CABLE CONNECTING TO MY LABTOP AND TV

Hi I have a macbookpro and Im using windows vista through bootcamp on it and it came with this little cable that connects to your macbookpro then you have to go buy a vga cable to plug into it and also plugging it into your SAMSUNG HDTV LN32A330J1DXZC. I did this and everything worked. I chose extended desktop but then I then went onto my TV and right click and i wanted the tv to be my main desktop that worked also then i went to bed that day just leaving the tv and the labtop on. the next day i turn on the tv and it says mode not supported.... so i replug everythign trying to fix it and there is no luck at all... maybe i effed it up from making my tv the main desktop?... well thats what i think... but my labtop when i right click on it and go to display settings the 2 boxes are checked.. my labtop is my main desktop and my extended desktop...... i dont understand that... when i hoose the other desktop option it lets me check the extened desktop option but when i click apply and go to look at it again the box is not checked... i hope this isnt confusing anybody...but please help if you know what to do .
