I am unable to upgrade to Vista.

Everything seems to go perfectly until after the final reboot
when I get the message

The Upgrade was not sucessful. Your original desktop is being
restored.

Any ideas???

Could you give us your system specs so we can better diagnose your problem.
Its possible that you might need a BIOS Update.

I have the exact problem. Initially I had to remove alcohol 120, windows
defender, and update A347 SCSI controller (part of Alcohol 120 ?).
Everything went smoothly until I received the same message The Upgrade was
not sucessful. Your original desktop is being restored. I have a Windows XP
media center edition. Pentium D 2.80 GHz. 1GB RAM. I ran the Windows Vista
Upgrade Advisor and no problems were not. Dying to try Vista.

thanks

I have the same problem. initially two programs were incompatible and were
removed : Alohol 120 and windows defender. Also asked to update A347 SCSI
controller this was also fixed (part of Alcohol 120). Everything was going
well until the last reset when I received the message "the Upgrade was not
sucessful. Your original desktop is being restored."

I have a XP media center edition. Pentium D 2.80 GHz. 1GB RAM. Any help
would be appreciated feeling left out.

Thanks
